New Version of Trend Micro USB Security
To protect USB storage devices against computer viruses, Trojans, spyware and worms
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 20, 2011 at 3:16 pmTrend Micro Incorporated announced the latest version of its USB Security product, designed to protect USB storage devices against malicious content in files that are often transferred by portable storage devices.
Trend Micro USB Security, which can be integrated with USB storage devices and is supported for Windows platform, provides comprehensive protection against computer viruses, Trojans, spyware and worms through virus scanning, as well as automatic program and pattern updates.
Though USB storage has increased the ease of managing large amounts of data for both personal and business users, malware attacks on USB flash drives are on the rise. As users connect USB storage devices to various PCs, malware can easily be spread. Trend Micro USB Security scans and detects infections, and will automatically clean, remove and quarantine viruses and spyware in real time.
New features include:
- Real-time virus scan. USB Security offers real-time scans so that if a threat is detected, an alert screen will be displayed and the infected files will be isolated.
- Auto-update on pattern files. Because of the changing nature of threats, USB Security automatically updates its pattern files. Manual updates are also an option.
- Reference of logs. The reference log keeps an interactive list of virus detection results where users can restore or delete any file on the quarantine list.
Currently, Trend Micro USB Security is found built into select storage devices by USB storage vendors.
