Nguyen will be responsible for growing SugarSync’s existing base of partners, as well as identifying and driving new strategic partner relationships.
Nguyen has more than 18 years of business development, corporate development and management experience in startups and public companies, as well as extensive industry expertise in telecom/mobile, social media, consumer Internet, cable and consumer electronics.
Most recently, he was Vice President of Business Development of Myriad, a mobile software company that has delivered products on over 3 Billion phones. At Myriad, Nguyen led strategic relationships with mobile operators, device manufacturers and social networks to drive commercial deployment of new social phone products. Prior to Myriad, he was Co-founder and Vice President of Business Development of Xumii (acquired by Myriad), a mobile social networking company that offers a cloud-based mobile service for deploying social networking and instant messaging services broadly across multiple mobile platforms.
Prior to Xumii, he served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development of Liberate Technologies, a provider of digital interactive TV software to cable companies. Prior to Liberate, Nguyen was Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and Senior Vice President, Global Alliances for InterTrust Technologies Corporation, a digital rights management (DRM) pioneer.
In addition to Nguyen, SugarSync made another key hire with Robb Henshaw, who joined the team as Director of Corporate Communications. In his role, Henshaw will oversee SugarSync’s brand management and strategic positioning, all public relations and social media activity, as well as other communications support.
