InQuinox Reaches 1TB/Minute In-Line De-Dupe Backup Throughput

InQuinox, LLC. announces enhancements to its SD3 appliance which now provides an in-line deduplicated backup throughput of 10TBph (TeraBytes per hour) for each SD3 storage node. With the largest appliance supporting up to six storage nodes in a single appliance, the InQuinox SD3 achieves 60TBph, thereby breaking the 1TBpm (TeraByte per minute) barrier.

By utilizing quad-core CPUs, appropriately sized memory, specialized disk controllers, industry-standard clustering software, a combination of SDDs and high-performance, resilient self-healing disk arrays, coupled with software and hardware RAID techniques, the SD3 becomes a powerful purpose-built appliance which establishes this new 1TBpm plateau.

The SD3 appliance scales from 1TB to 192TB of usable storage, consumes only 36U of rack space, and reduces a company’s backup storage footprint by eliminating several racks of storage.
