IBM 250 GB 3.5-inch SATA HS and SS HDDs
The addition of 250 GB HDD offerings to the IBM System x family of 3.5-inch SATA drives offers higher-capacity options and provides a wider selection of choices to satisfy a broad range of applications. These new drives are positioned to offer higher capacity and maintain low-cost, basic function for the System x line.
These 250 GB SATA HDDs provide 3.5-inch form factor options that are available for hot-swap and simple-swap configurations.
Key features and benefits include:
- 250 GB capacity at 7,200 rpm speed
- Reliability that enables operation in RAID environments
You can put together a combination for data-storage applications when you install these entry level, basic function high-capacity SATA HDDs in IBM System x configurations.
250 GB 3.5-inch HDDs performance characteristics include:
- Formatted capacity of 250,000 MB
- Drive to host interface that supports up to 3.0 Gb/s burst rate
- Spindle speed of 7,200 rpm
- Average latency of 4.17 ms
- Hot-swap and simple-swap capability
Reliability
- SATA compliance enables these HDDs to connect directly into System x systems.
- S.M.A.R.T Technology allows software utilities to alert of certain impending drive failures so replacements can be made before a problem occurs.
- Testing through the ServerProven program instills confidence that the storage subsystem is compatible and will function reliably.
- The HDDs come with a one-year, limited warranty.
640GB High IOPS Adapter
The 640GB High IOPS MLC Duo Adapter for IBM System x comes with the benefits of standard storage in addition to enterprise-class high performance of up to 200,000 sustained IOPS. This adapter is designed primarily for performance-hungry, high-performance servers and computing appliances, while providing the added benefits of lower power and cooling costs, low management overhead, and a smaller storage footprint.
Based on standard PCIe architecture coupled with silicon-based NAND clustering storage technology, the High IOPS SSD PCIe Adapter is optimized for System x racks and blades. The scalable design comes in 640 GB capacity with Multi level cell (MLC) technology in a full-height, half-length PCI-e form factor. This adapter uses NAND flash memory as the basic building block of solid-state storage and contains no moving parts, thus is less sensitive to issues associated with vibration, noise, and mechanical failure.
The adapter is built as a block device on a PCIe bus with wear-leveling, 11-bit ECC, and N+1 chip-level redundancy providing reliability and efficiency. Whether enabling high-performance computing or reducing the storage footprint, IBM offers High IOPS SSD PCIe Adapters to meet your computational requirements. This adapter is compatible with a wide variety of System x systems.
Warranty
- Three year limited warranty.
