Digiliant Uses Windows Storage Server 2008 R2

Based in Okemos, MI, Digiliant LLC., provider of customized Network Attached Storage (NAS) for electronic storage, has announced its inclusion of Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 in the building of its systems. A dedicated file and print server that is based on Windows technology, Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 is designed to offer its users reliability and ease of integration.

Some of the features of the Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 operating system include flexibility, easier file management, cost effective performance, single instance storage (SIS) v2 which eliminates duplicate files on data volumes and reduces disk space consumption, iSCSI (storage over the Ethernet) Software Target version 3.3 which can be optionally installed on top of Windows Storage Server 2008 R2, file server optimization, remote storage management online, improved failover clustering, windows file sharing, network file system (NFS), file server resource manager, DFS namespace and DFS replication, and BitLocker Drive Encryption for protection against theft.
