Reality Check Network Deployed EMC/Isilon

As primary storage for its managed hosting services

Isilon Systems, Inc., a division of EMC, announced that Reality Check Network Corp. has deployed Isilon scale-out storage as the primary storage resource for its managed hosting services.

Using Isilon’s NL-Series, powered by the OneFS operating system, Reality Check Network has consolidated its managed storage services onto a single, shared storage resource, simplifying data management to improve service quality and reduce operating costs. With Isilon clusters in multiple data centers worldwide, Reality Check Network can provide its customers with on-demand storage resources, enabling clients to scale applications without limitation, while also expanding Reality Check Network’s capacity for new business.

"Our customers expect their IT resources on-demand, meaning we can’t use traditional storage since it doesn’t scale quickly or cost-effectively," said Ben Uretsky, CEO, Reality Check Network. "Isilon solves this problem because it actually is on-demand storage. Now, our customers can scale out applications in a single share without worrying about storage limitations, while management stays simple on our end."

Reality Check Network provides web hosting, internet and professional services to customers around the world. Prior to using Isilon, Reality Check Network’s direct-attached storage (DAS) system couldn’t scale to meet customer demand, creating significant data and storage management challenges, which created bottlenecks in their customers’ application growth. Reality Check Network needed a single storage resource that could scale on-demand to meet customer needs, while also reducing management costs.

By deploying Isilon 72NL clusters in each of its data centers across the globe, Reality Check Network now has a single, shared storage platform for its entire customer base that can scale performance and capacity linearly or independently in minutes. With Isilon, Reality Check Network’s customers can grow their data stores and related applications without storage limitations, improving service quality and driving new business opportunities for the hosting provider.

"Reality Check Network is one of many hosting and cloud providers helping usher in an era of shared, on-demand IT, which will enable greater business efficiency, cost reduction and productivity," said Sam Grocott, vice president of marketing, Isilon. "By using Isilon to simplify data management and eliminate storage restrictions for its customer base, Reality Check Network is positioned to be a leader in managed hosting services for years to come."
