Livedrive Reaches Ten Billion File Milestone

On cloud storage and online backup services

Livedrive, a cloud storage, online backup and access anywhere service, now stores over 10 billion files for its customers, who add just over 20 million files per day.

The service, which boasts half a million paying customers around the world, has been growing since its launch in 2008, with hundreds of new customers signing up each day.

Livedrive was founded by the British internet entrepreneur Andrew Michael, who was recently nominated as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Men of the Year by GQ Magazine for Livedrive’s contribution to technology.

Andrew said: "This is an exciting day for Livedrive – to reach the 10 billion files milestone is fantastic.  We’ve worked hard to provide an excellent service and earn the trust of our customers, who task us every day with looking after some of their most important memories and information. I’m now looking forward to next year, when we have some very big plans – Livedrive is just going to get better and better and we’re looking forward to taking our customers on a fantastic journey."

Livedrive offer customers secure and unlimited online backup, helping them to protect all of their photos, music and videos by storing them safely online. Customers can then access their files from anywhere by logging in to Livedrive’s website, and can browse, view and stream files to their mobile phone using Livedrive’s mobile apps.

Advanced users can sign up for Livedrive’s complete cloud storage solution, Backup & Briefcase, which adds a new drive to their PC. Files on this drive are synced between all of their PCs, can be edited online and can be shared easily with friends and family.

Livedrive Backup and Backup & Briefcase both come with unlimited online storage space, and are available for £3.95 per month and £9.95 per month respectively.
