The GOTV HMS (Home Media System) combines multimedia functionalities: Internet Television, Home Media Library, Home Computer and Home Video Phone via Web Applications will be offered at $299.99 USD with keyboard and remote.
Additional hardware upgrades and accessories will also be available. This new Home Media System will not require a monthly subscription, however an optional support service will be available for a small monthly fee of $8.99 USD per month.
The GOTV HMS is designed to be connected to your TV and comes with a wireless keyboard & remote to control the unit. Like a PC, it is customizable and expandable. The GOTV HMS is equipped with a Dual Core 2.5Ghz CPU, 1 Terabyte Hard Drive, 1GB DDR SDRAM memory (expandable up to 8GB), Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WiFi, up to 300Mbps, and 6 USB 2.0 Ports.
It plays virtually all web content, directly on your TV. It also allows to play all local and downloaded content. The GOTV HMS boasts multimedia playback capabilities including HD video, open-source video players such as MPlayer, VLC, and Totem.
It supports a list of video formats including MPEG2, MPEG4, vow, mp4, avi, asf, wmv, and mkv. The HD video allows you to play up to 1080p H264 content with a HDMI output (max resolution 1920×1200, 1080p), DVI, and VGA.
It supports a list of audio formats including mp3, aac, ac3, Flac, Ogg, and wav through its HD audio, High-definition 6-channel Audio output. Optical S/PDIF audio output is included but is not yet enabled through software. A Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi network connectivity to allow video streaming.
The GOTV HMS allows for hundreds of free 3rd-party applications that you can customize your unit by installing Skype, Games, Google Earth, Hulu, Netflix and more.
