SugarSync Service in Japan

Launched by BB Softservice from SoftBank group

BB Softservice Corp. from the SoftBank Group and SugarSync Inc. launched their joint SugarSync service in Japan.

The new service http://www.sugarsync.jp is integrated into BBSS website services. It allows anytime, anywhere data access from any computing or mobile device. In addition to SugarSync’s core features (including real time data backup, syncing and sharing), registration occurs through the Japanese site, and payment is in Japanese yen.

"Users can benefit from the globally popular online storage SugarSync now localized specifically for the Japanese market," said Yasuo Mizoguchi, President of BB Softservice. "I believe this will promote Cloud-based software services as core consumer and small business utilities, which is our business philosophy."

Laura Yecies, CEO of SugarSync Inc., said: "I am delighted to offer SugarSync in the growing Japanese market. With BBSS’ assistance, we’ve achieved true Japanese localization, and will be able to continue developing SugarSync so that it meets Japanese users’ high expectations."

BBSS will launch a range of marketing activities in Japan to increase the number of users. BBSS will serve as the customer support and primary contact for customers in Japan. The team will relay customer feature and service feedback and future development input directly back to SugarSync. The goal is to use Japanese user input to achieve better services, software features, and usability.

BBSS and SugarSync Inc. signed a comprehensive business partnership agreement on September 9, 2010. The two companies launched the Japanese site and already offer some services including product support via email for free and paid members.
