From Amax, Multi-Petabyte NAS
StorMax-X1 for rich media
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 22, 2010 at 3:15 pmAMAX Information Technologies, in HPC and storage solutions, announced the availability of the StorMax-X1 scalable NAS storage solution.
The StorMax-X1 is for multi-petabyte rich media and content sharing platforms that integrate the computing technologies requiring performance scalability, density and high throughput computing with storage-management features.
StorMax-X1’s design provides a petabyte of raw capacity in a single, floor-tile sized footprint, and is capable of additional capacity without disruption to create massive storage pools. The NAS storage solution delivers linear scalability, scaling to hundreds of petabytes by adding new nodes with just a few mouse clicks.
By utilizing a high-density JBOD storage, the StorMax-X1 is expandable up to 516 hot-swappable 3.5" SATA or SAS HDD/SSD drives per 42U standard rack cabinet. It offers customers performance scalability, flexibility and efficiency at a large-scale for applications from in-memory databases to a diverse set of data and petabyte-scale storage-intensive HPC applications.
"The StorMax-X1 was developed in cooperation with our datacenter customers that required robust storage management, better resource utilization and centralized data protection," said Winston Tang, Product Development Manager for AMAX. "StorMax-X1 is a multi-petabyte capacity solution for managing massive amounts of data driven by rich media and social digital content demanded by content sharing platforms such as YouTube and Facebook."
