This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 20, 2010 at 3:10 pmRAID Incorporated completed the acquisition of certain assets of Excel Meridian Data, LLC.
Founded in 1992, EMD has had a tradition of designing, implementing and servicing storage solutions. EMD terminated operations in 2010.
"Due to the downturn in the economy in 2009, EMD had been struggling and elected to go out and liquidate. We at RAID welcome this opportunity to acquire and service EMD’s customer base. This type of transaction is not new to RAID as we have been very successful in the integration of other storage companies that fit our profile. In fact, this is our fourth such acquisition this decade. This acquisition will be a welcome and exciting event for EMD’s customers and for RAID," stated Marc DiZoglio, EVP of HPC Storage Systems at RAID.
RAID’s milestones this year have included OEM agreements with LSI Logic HPC storage systems and IBM’s General Parallel File System (GPFS). As a consequence, RAID has been able to create the RAID Scale Out Xanadu clustered storage systems which can deliver outstanding availability and performance.
