IceWEB Integrates Stec’s SSDs

IceWEB, Inc. has integrated STEC, Inc.‘s MACH16 and MACH8 Solid State Drives (SSDs) into the IceWEB 3000/5000 Unified Data Storage Cluster System delivered to Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technologies for use by the United States Government.

IceWEB leverages the performance features of STEC SSD drives to enhance overall system efficiency. IceWEB selected the STEC Enterprise MACH family of SSDs due in part to their error correcting code (ECC) mechanisms, which ensure the protection of data transferred to the drives. Unified storage applications represent a good opportunity to leverage the reliability features of the MACH family of drives.

According to Mr. Tim McNamee, IceWEB Federal Channel Manager, "the ability to successfully integrate STEC SSD drives with the IceWEB 3000/5000 Storage Appliance further enhances the value proposition that IceWEB and its Channel Partners bring to its customers.
