Veeam Received Army Certificate of Networthiness

From U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command

Veeam Software announced that its VMware data protection and disaster recovery solution, Veeam Backup & Replication, has received the U.S. Army Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) from the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command.

The CoN accreditation assures Veeam Backup & Replication meets U.S. Army and Department of Defense (DoD) standards for security, compatibility and sustainability. The CoN accreditation is required by all enterprise software products functioning within the U.S. Army Enterprise Infrastructure Network and applies to all Army Reserve, National Guard and DoD organizations that use this network.

"Key government agencies rely on Veeam Backup & Replication to provide fast, flexible and reliable backup and recovery of their virtual machines," explained George Sidoris, VP of Worldwide Sales for Veeam Software. "Veeam is committed to meeting technology standards of security, compatibility and sustainability set forth by all U.S. government agencies."

In addition to the U.S. Army CoN, Veeam Backup & Replication is compliant with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS-140-2) and DADMS-approved by the U.S. Navy Functional Area Management (FAM) initiative. It is currently undergoing certification and accreditation within the U.S. intelligence community.

Veeam Backup & Replication provides 2-in-1 backup and replication for virtual machines running on VMware ESX(i) and performs functions not possible with traditional physical backup solutions or other virtual backup tools. Veeam Backup & Replication runs a virtual machine in production or in an isolated virtual lab directly from a compressed and deduplicated backup file on regular backup storage. Therefore, it’s possible to instantly recover a VM directly from a backup, restore individual objects (email messages, database records, etc.) from any virtualized application and automatically verify the recoverability of every backup without additional hardware or staff. This technology also enables organizations to gain additional value from their investments in backup storage by using backups to create an ‘on-demand sandbox’ for troubleshooting, testing and development/QA.
