This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 10, 2010 at 3:06 pmOcster GmbH & Co. KG, developer of data backup software for private and business customers, released version 6 of Ocster Backup Business.
In version 6, a new technology is used which ensures an up to 6x faster backup speed. Ocster backup stores the backup files either to an external hard drive, a network drive or to Ocster Secure Storage – a secured storage provided by Ocster that has to be paid by the client.
Another innovation is the 1:1 file copy. The data is copied 1 : 1 to another drive or windows archive. The user can browse the files directly in Windows Explorer, open the files you want to copy and copy these by just one click.
The user interface has again undergone a revision. "The ultimate goal of Ocster Backup user interface is to be simple to use," says Managing Director Jan-Eric Duden. "Even though our software automatically performs all the tasks, something still can be can improved during operation. Therefore, we have structured the area of backup policies more clearly so that users can now easly chose the data that has to be backed up by just one click."
Small businesses also benefit from the function of remote maintenance. Ocster Backip Business allows backup plans from multiple computers to be monitored from a single PC. After setting up the backups once, they can all be monitored from one computer to ensure that all the computers in the office are backed up.
