Backup My Info!, Inc. (BUMI), provider of managed online backup and recovery solutions for small to mid-sized businesses, announced a service offering aimed at making it easy for customers to restore their data after a catastrophic system failure. BUMI offers ‘plug-and-play’ storage devices loaded with clients’ encrypted data that can be shipped overnight in order to accelerate the process of restoring. This service, available at no additional cost, can be utilized when an Internet connection is not available or the physical server or location is no longer available.

During a typical data restore, BUMI engineers guide clients through the process which includes retrieving the encrypted data from its data center in Canada through BUMI’s software application. If a large amount of data needs to be immediately restored, BUMI can ship this data overnight in an encrypted and compressed format on a USB storage device which can then be restored rapidly at no charge to the client. Many competitors charge a very large fee for similar offerings. Once the data is shipped to the customer site, BUMI senior engineers remotely connect to assist with recovery procedures.
