This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 1, 2010 at 3:25 pmiTernity GmbH’s storage and archiving solution iCAS now integrates with the email- and content-archiving system Symantec Enterprise Vault 9.0.
iCAS is already certified with the predecessor, Enterprise Vault 8.0. In the scope of their technology partnership, iTernity and Symantec confirmed the integration of both applications. Extensive interoperability tests were run during the certification process.
"Enterprise Vault empowers customers to archive their business information for long term storage while providing quick and easy access for legal, compliance or regulatory requests," says Simon Jelley, Sr. Director of Product Management for Enterprise Vault, Symantec. "By including a connector to storage solutions like iCAS from iTernity, we offer our customers a valuable option for tamper-proof archiving of unstructured information across the organization, helping them to reduce costs, minimize compliance risks and efficiently discover information regardless of where it resides."
The combination of both products enables users to be legally compliant when archiving all their emails, contents and file systems on standard storage arrays. The iCAS application also helps in using storage efficiently because of the integration in existing storage environments and the possibility to use extended volume for compliant archiving.
"The conjunction of both solutions enables archiving and protection of business relevant data, for companies of any size. Through our partnership with Symantec we serve the users’ need for a seamlessly integrated archiving storage solution. We believe that iCAS offers the most flexible and most efficient storage solution for Enterprise Vault– regardless of the underlying hardware and even in virtualized environments," says Ralf Steinemann, iTernity’s Business Development Manager.
iCAS is a platform-independent and application-independent archiving storage solution. Delivered pre-installed and pre-configured, it integrates into any existing network. Existing NAS or SAN systems can be used as the archiving storage, giving the customer a high investment protection. Combined with the archiving and eDiscovery functions of Symantec Enterprise Vault, the customer gets a package solution that complies with the legal requirements for electronic archiving and compliance for the data lifecycle.
