Nuxeo Partners With KOM Networks

To build archival and storage solution for BC and compliance with retention policies

Nuxeo, an open source enterprise content management company, has partnered with KOM Networks, provider of data archiving and storage management solutions.

As a new Nuxeo Galaxy partner, the two companies are now working together to provide customers with a solution for enterprise content management and data storage for compliance and disaster recovery.

Today’s enterprise is facing the challenge of ever-growing amounts of big data. Increased regulatory oversight can often mean that organizations are required to store data for longer periods of time. Processing, storing, and securing all of this data can be complicated and costly. For these reasons, Nuxeo has partnered with KOM Networks to simplify the data storage process and address the various compliance requirements.

Nuxeo’s content management solutions can capture all of an organization’s content, organize the information, and apply storage rules. For sensitive data, Nuxeo can automatically categorize it and send it to the KOM Networks appliance, where the data is stored securely and tamper-proof, in accordance with organizational policies. When the data is no longer needed, a Nuxeo EP or Nuxeo DM-based content application will delete the expired data stored on the KOM Networks KOMpliance appliance, and the sensitive data is securely shredded and destroyed. Secure storage of sensitive data on the KOM appliance is not only important for organizations to better comply with legally-mandated retention rules, but also is essential for business continuity and disaster recovery.

"Companies today are struggling to store and secure all of their data, but the process does not need to be complicated," said Taher Shaath, CEO of KOM Networks. "We are pleased to partner with Nuxeo in order to provide a complete end-to-end, extendable, and affordable solution for tamper-proof storage."

When adopting a content management solution, organizations need to be sure that the new product will integrate seamlessly with their existing network infrastructure. KOM Networks is non-proprietary and vendor-neutral and protects data wherever it is stored – even in the cloud. Nuxeo’s open-source, Java-based ECM platform – Nuxeo EP – supports a range of IT architectures and co-exists with existing network infrastructures.

"The beauty of Nuxeo and KOM Networks’ partnership is that both companies are committed to open standards," said Eric Barroca, CEO of Nuxeo. "Customers simply plug our solution into their SAN, and it seamlessly integrates with their existing infrastructure. There is no learning curve and no expensive connectors or training required."

Nuxeo’s Galaxy partner program continues to grow throughout North America to help expand and promote the Nuxeo ecosystem. The global program also includes a range of systems integrators and application builders across several continents. Nuxeo’s content management applications including Nuxeo EP, and packages such as Nuxeo DM, Nuxeo DAM and Nuxeo Case Management Framework, as well as KOM Networks’ archive storage device are available.
