Mozy 2.0 for Mac

Mozy, the online backup service from EMC, announced Mozy 2.0 for Mac.

With improved features and a native-Mac experience, Mozy 2.0 for Mac makes it easier and faster for Mac users to run and monitor backups and restores – whether they’re using MozyPro for business information or MozyHome for personal data.

Mac users will now be able to enjoy faster upload speeds generated by optimized bandwidth usage and faster file scanning as well as pre-transfer processes. Mozy 2.0 for Mac also has a new look and feel, offering a native-Mac experience. In response to customer feedback, Mozy 2.0 for Mac also delivers greater visibility into which files are backed up, increasing transparency of the backup process.

"This release underscores our commitment to the Mac community," said Russ Stockdale, Vice President of Product Management for Mozy. "We didn’t want to simply take Mozy 2.0 for Windows and make it work on a Mac; we wanted to make a version of our service that looked and felt like a Mac application – so that’s what we’ve done. We plan to continue to be a market leader with online backup for Mac users."

Mozy 2.0 for Mac supports features for users who want more control of the backup experience. Users can set rules to automatically include or exclude specific types of data and adjust the rules as needed.
