Chelsio Demos Unified Wire Solutions

With sub 3.5μs UDP sockets latency and FCoE offload

Chelsio Communications, Inc. demonstrated the performance capabilities of its Terminator 4 (T4), including offload FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet) and sub 3.5μs UDP sockets latency, at the Supercomputer Conference (SC’10) in New Orleans, LA. Chelsio was also be showing its Unified Storage Server and Unified Storage Router appliance in demonstrations in the Chelsio booth.

The T4, an integrated, virtualized 10Gb Ethernet controller built around a programmable protocol-processing engine, includes fourth generation TCP offload, third generation iSCSI offload, second generation iWARP RDMA over Ethernet offload. The T4 now supports FCoE and UDP offload as well. In its booth, Chelsio showed sub 3.5μs latency for UDP sockets and sub 4.0μs iWARP RDMA MPI latency. Chelsio also demonstrated high IOPs throughput of its Unified Storage Server (USS), software that enables high performance iSCSI SAN, NAS and RDMA storage solutions. Chelsio also demonstrated the high availability capabilities of its Unified Storage Router (USR).

In addition Chelsio was participating in iWARP interoperability and iSCSI and FCoE offload performance demonstrations in both the Ethernet Alliance booth and interoperability as well as iWARP and NFS over RDMA performance demos in the Open Fabrics Alliance booth.

"Chelsio has a growing presence at SC’10, which mirrors the growing influence of 10Gb Ethernet as the engine of convergence for high performance computing clusters, storage and networks," said Kianoosh Naghshineh, president and CEO of Chelsio. "We are pleased to be able to demonstrate the performance capabilities of our T4, including low latency UDP."
