By providing native desktop access to data stored in cloud
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 12, 2010 at 3:03 pmOxygen Cloud Inc., a service that connects people, data and devices within a company to a single virtual file system – now supports large-scale enterprise migration to private cloud storage.
Oxygen Cloud simplifies enterprise cloud storage deployment by eliminating end user adoption barriers. By providing native desktop access to data stored in public and private clouds, Oxygen makes cloud storage directly usable to enterprise users. End users can enjoy file access and collaborate with others from any location or device, including the iPhone and iPad.
Oxygen Cloud enables an enterprise to mix and match from a number of public clouds, as well as setting up its own private cloud to meet specific business requirements, such as security, reliability, geography, performance, and cost. Enterprises can currently select from public providers such as Amazon, Cloud Leverage, Rackspace, Iron Mountain, and Nirvanix.
Oxygen enterprise private cloud options now include EMC Atmos. Service providers will be able to take advantage of the private cloud for customized cloud storage deployments. With Oxygen’s enterprise private cloud support, IT gains the performance of local network storage with the flexibility of cloud storage. Oxygen Cloud also gives IT administrators the tools to manage security, provision users, and allocate storage.
"Oxygen can play a pivotal role in private cloud deployment and adoption," said Alex Teu, VP of Business Development at Oxygen Cloud. "We empower enterprises to extract maximum value from their choice of private cloud vendors by completing the solution with end user and IT applications for cloud storage."
Oxygen Cloud delivers a simplified on-ramp that enables enterprise to easily deploy private cloud storage to its end users. Oxygen’s administrative tools allow IT to control access permissions, maintain user profiles and manage storage allocation – balancing end users’ storage and collaboration demands without sacrificing IT’s need to meet security and management requirements.
Oxygen Cloud is a member of EMC’s Velocity Atmos Partner Program.
Oxygen Cloud’s private beta is now available.
