SmartPick Backup Backup Appliances for Offsite Backup of Exchange Server

SmartPick Solutions, Inc., a San Jose, CA-based provider of data backup appliances and services, announced version 2 of their SmartFiler Appliances that enable automatic offsite data backup of Exchange Server data. Version 2 integrates SmartFiler Appliances with Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery product to enable offsite data backup of Exchange data without tapes.

The SmartFiler Backup Appliance solution allows customers to own their offsite backup solution, free of monthly service charges. The initial version, introduced earlier this year has been adopted in the SMB market place for backing up file system data from servers and desktops in a heterogeneous network.

SmartPick has been providing online data backup products and services for small and medium businesses from 2003. With the shift by companies to store all data in a digital form, be it health records, financial information, email trails for compliance etc., it has become increasingly difficult to do a daily offsite backup, primarily due to the volume of data involved. The SmartFiler backup appliances are for situations where more than 50GB of data need to be backed up daily onsite and offsite.
