Sanbolic to Provide DR Solution for Citrix Desktop Virtualization

Sanbolic, Inc. announced plans to offer a software-based Disaster Recovery (DR) solution for Citrix desktop virtualization solutions.

Using Sanbolic’s Melio 2010 SAN software, which extends the benefits of virtualization to the storage layer, organizations can achieve scalability, high availability and disaster recovery for Citrix solutions such as Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp.

Sanbolic is a Citrix Ready partner. The Citrix Ready designation is awarded to third party products that have successfully met verification criteria set by Citrix, and gives customers an added confidence in the compatibility of the joint solution offering.

Leveraging scalable and available shared storage provided by Sanbolic’s advanced cluster file system Melio FS, in conjunction with its application clustering software AppCluster, XenDesktop virtual desktops and XenApp delivered applications can quickly and automatically fail over to a remote DR site during site-wide failures. In addition to minimizing system downtime, administrators are also able to maintain complete visibility and manageability of their virtual infrastructures during site failures, allowing administrators to manage servers, devices and OS images from a central console until the original site comes back online.
