Activist investor Relational Investors LLC is building a stake in Symantec Corp. with plans to press for a breakup of the software company, a person familiar with the matter said. Such a breakup would involve splitting Symantec into two businesses )- security and data storage, this person said. The move comes more than five years after Symantec’s $13.5 billion all-stock acquisition of Veritas Software Corp.
