Fusion-io Opens Offices in UK

Mat Young, manager of EMEA OEM and alliances

Fusion-io announced its new sales offices in the United Kingdom. Fusion’s ioMemory technology addresses the gap between the amount of data that can be held in dynamic random access memory (DRAM) and the speed at which it can be accessed on a disk.

With Fusion’s ioMemory technology, IT managers can consolidate up to 10 servers in one system, creating increased reliability and significant savings in capital and operational management costs when compared to DRAM, disk-based storage or traditional solid-state disks (SSDs).

"Using Fusion’s ioMemory technology, The Mergermarket Group has significantly reduced the number of servers supporting the MS SQL Server database," said Mark Lissaman, CTO for The Mergermarket Group. "With a greater presence in the UK, we look forward to working more closely with Fusion to realize even greater savings, while increasing performance and reliability in the data center."

Fusion’s ioMemory technology is being used by financial, research, entertainment and enterprise organizations, helping them meet with more intensive IT demands, such as scaling virtual machine deployments, driving faster financial transactions, serving up dynamic web content and accelerating database and data mining performance.

"We’re pleased to be expanding our activities in the UK marketplace and working with marquis organizations such as The Mergermarket Group to help them do more with less," said Mat Young, Manager, Fusion-io EMEA OEM and Alliances. "With ioMemory, companies are seeing performance gains of many magnitudes and server consolidation of three to 10 times. These kinds of improvements are driving our ioMemory into the mainstream of enterprise computing worldwide."

Fusion’s sales offices are now open in the UK.
