The Aegis Padlock’s integrated hardware encryption, software-free design, and ability to work on any platform makes it ideal for corporate deployments and for business travelers looking to secure their data on the road. Access to the drive is protected by the user’s unique PIN and takes just minutes to set up. With the ability to store several PINs in addition to an Administrator’s PIN, the Aegis Padlock also makes a powerful and secure business collaboration tool.

In striving to meet customer requirements and suggestions, the Aegis Padlock’s key features are the result of creating custom mobile storage solutions for customer needs, adhering to their unique security polices and requirements.

Utilizing Military Grade
FIPS PUB 197 Validated Encryption

Apricorn’s Aegis Padlock provides seamless, real-time protection against unauthorized access. All data on the drive is encoded with 256-bit AES Encryption at all times, and the Padlock’s ‘Data at Rest Protection’ ensures that all PINs and encryption keys are encrypted when the drive is at rest. These features combine to make sure your data is protected even if the drive is dismantled.

Apricorn’s Brute Force Self Destruct Feature protects the drive from hacking attempts by blocking automated attempts to enter PIN numbers. If the drive senses it is being systematically attacked, the Padlock will destroy the encryption key and lock the drive, keeping your data safe.

In addition, incorporated into the Aegis Padlock’s electronics is Apricorn’s Variable Time Circuit (VTC) technology, working to thwart ‘timing attacks’ aimed at accessing the drive by studying the behavior and infiltrating the Padlock’s electronics.

Wear resistant keypad – Enhanced keypad specification hides wear and use patterns to further protect the user’s PIN number from physical attacks. This keypad specification will prevent wear on the keypad for many years beyond the useful life span of the drive.

"Applications requiring data security and the demand for increased capacity show no signs of easing up," said Mike McCandless, Apricorn’s VP of Sales and Marketing. "We continue to work closely with our customers to customize and enhance the Aegis Padlock product line to fit the security requirements of various customers and industries without compromising the ease-of-use and functionality of the product."
