C2C PST Manager Updated
Now working with latest version of Exchange 2010 SP1
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 28, 2010 at 3:20 pmAt last IP Expo 2010, C2C Systems announced a version of its recently launched product, PST Manager. PST Manager is a solution that makes it possible to find, analyse, migrate and eliminate troublesome PST files throughout a network.
The new version works with the latest version of Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1. Also included in this release are additions to the reporting providing a new executive summary to highlight the problems of PSTs within the organization.
C2C also showed its latest version of ArchiveOne for email archiving, retention and discovery, which provides full support for Exchange 2010 SP1.
"The stage looks set to be an exciting show for C2C. Organiser research shows that email management is one of the top draws for attendees at IP Expo, eager to identify solutions that help alleviate pain points of burgeoning email. Part of that challenge is undoubtedly caused by the proliferation of PST files, which continue to be the bane of any system administrator’s life, so we are pleased to be able to show them first hand that there is another option with our PST Manager solution," commented Dave Hunt, CEO, C2C.
IT departments increasingly frown on PSTs and often look to eliminate them. They often contain critical data, yet are rarely backed up or managed. After implementing mailbox quotas to control email storage growth, users frequently create PST files as a way around mailbox size restrictions. Outlook’s AutoArchive feature can create PSTs automatically, often without the user’s knowledge. Excessive amounts of IT resources are spent locating and recovering PSTs for users. Hence why C2C has plugged the gap with the introduction of PST Manager.
"PST files were undoubtedly the bane of my working life," comments Russell Brown, Head of IT, Essex Court Chambers. "Just having the ability to control that monster alone has been a significant bonus, but with the management, flexibility and scalability that ArchiveOne brings, we are able to bring out another dimension to Exchange performance for our members."
