New UK Company eMediaplus “Recertified” Used Tapes

UK organisations are now able to buy recertified media through British firm, eMediaplus.

Using a specially engineered and patented method of data cleansing from the USA, British corporates will now be able to give themselves a big fat Green tick on their Eco charters. Typically, larger corporate, manufacturing and government organisations are the higher users of such media as LTO, DLT, 34590 tapes, and up until now the only option for used media has been to dispose of them by shredding the tapes and thereby adding to the enormous landfill problems which grow daily across the UK and Europe.

Recertified media is previously used media that has been through a stringent 9 stage process to eradicate any data and transform tape cartridges – both physically and with full functionality – as good as new and guaranteed. Shrink wrapped and delivered directly back to the client ready to use, as opposed to unnecessary being crushed and thrown on the scrapheap.

eMediaplus will take used tapes and either recertify them or recycle them. By using recertified media for archives, companies will not only be helping the environment, they will also help themselves up to a 50% cost reduction of buying new tapes. This is no small saving when considering over £100M is spent in the UK alone, while in Europe the spend is more than £400M. eMediaplus also offers buybacks on certain tape formats such as LTO, 3590x and others.
