Sans Digital MobileSTOR MS1UTP ($65 Diskless)

Sans Digital is introducing a bay SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and eSATA enclosure with removable tray modules: the MobileSTOR MS1UTP, based on the same concepts as the  MobileSTOR MS1UT and MS1CT models, which implement SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and eSATA.

MobileSTOR MS1UTP is an external 3.5" SATA hard drive enclosure equipped with a removable hard drive tray, along with USB 3.0 and eSATA dual interfaces. The new USB 3.0 specification provides up to 5Gb/s of data bandwidth, which is 10x faster than the transferring speed of USB 2.0. High performance hard drives can now utilize this increased bandwidth to provide maximum data transfer performance. USB 3.0 is fast, versatile, and allows backward compatibility with USB 2.0 ports when the USB 3.0 port is unavailable.

The combination of a fan-less design and aluminum housing provides a cool operation. With portability in mind, the compact MS1UTP weighs 2.2 lbs. The removable hard drive tray is interchangeable with certain MobileSTOR or MobileRAID models to provide the best compatibility between various MobileSTOR and MobileRAID. The versatile MS1UTP could also be placed either vertically or horizontally on your desktop. MS1UTP supports OS such as MS-Windows, Linux and Mac OS with Time Machine. This combination of versatility, performance, and new technology makes the MS1UTP a storage system for personal or creative professional data.

Priced at $65, with eSATA and USB 3.0 support as well as backward compatibility to USB 2.0, the new MobileSTOR MS1UTP works with virtually any computer.
