CYA HOTBackup for EMC Documentum
Enabling backups to NetWorker
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 26, 2010 at 2:47 pmCYA Technologies, Inc., an enChoice company, announced CYA HOTBackup for EMC Documentum. This application-aware solution helps Documentum customers reduce planned system downtime and ensure data integrity by enabling hot, consistent backups to EMC NetWorker.
Studies conducted by IT industry analysts show that on average, businesses lose between 60,000€ and 77,00 € for every hour of IT system downtime. For a company that needs to bring Documentum down for daily backups and maintenance, that translates into tens of millions of Euros lost per year.
CYA HOTBackup enables companies to mitigate and even eliminate planned Documentum downtime by performing hot backups of the entire Documentum application that are automatically stored within EMC NetWorker. CYA HOTBackup also prevents data loss and corruption issues that are commonly caused by other hot backup solutions. Most other hot backup solutions perform content and metadata backups at different times, resulting in backups where the content (i.e. a loan application) will not be linked to its most recent metadata (i.e. digital signatures). CYA HOTBackup eliminates this issue by backing up all Documentum components in a consistent manner.
These components include:
- The full-text index;
- Database; and
- Storage area.
CYA HOTBackup is designed to integrate with CYA’s product, CYA SmartRecovery. CYA SmartRecovery mitigates unplanned Documentum downtime by enabling hot, granular recovery of Documentum objects in response to logical failures such as viruses, power surges, and user/programmatic errors.
CYA HOTBackup supports Documentum versions 6.x.
