Cbeyond Wireless Backup

Protects a business in the event broadband service is interrupted.

Cbeyond, a provider of IT and communications services to more than 53,000 small businesses, announced Wireless Backup, expanding its line of business continuity offerings.

Wireless Backup protects a business in the event its broadband service is interrupted. The solution keeps Internet-based business functions up and running if a broadband failure due to extreme weather, cable cuts, technology issues or other unforeseen events occurs.

Using Wireless Backup, data services will automatically failover to a 3G wireless connection which allows businesses to continue working. Once the primary service is restored, broadband services are automatically switched back over with no action required from the customer.

"A service outage can cripple a small business’ ability to serve its customers," said Melanie Kreh, director of product management for Cbeyond. "With business continuity solutions like Wireless Backup, businesses can avoid significant operational and financial losses that can accompany the disruption of broadband service."

Customers with Wireless Backup will be able to continue using critical customer and vendor communications such as email, faxing, browsing the web, sending and receiving orders, and using credit card terminals during an outage. Wireless Backup ensures business-critical operations can continue in the event of an interruption. Cbeyond also provides customer support with Wireless Backup and all Cbeyond solutions, giving businesses peace of mind during an otherwise chaotic situation.

Wireless Backup is Cbeyond’s latest offering in the company’s business continuity product portfolio. Small businesses have voice, data and network protection with Cbeyond’s business continuity solutions including Call Forwarding, Virtual Receptionist, BeyondMobile, Secure Backup, Secure Desktop, Hosted Microsoft Exchange Email, Web hosting, Laptop Card and BeyondOffice.
