This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 8, 2010 at 3:28 pmDigitiliti, Inc. announced the version 2.0 of its DigiLIBE Information Management solution.
DigiLIBE combines Information Management and Storage Management capabilities into a single integrated product, enabling virtualization, collaboration, security, and compliance.
DigiLIBE is a real time, dynamic information management system that solves the problems associated with managing, controlling, and quickly accessing unstructured data. It provides customers with an integrated Virtual Corporate Library (VCL) system with policy-based applications to protect control and secure data from its point of origin to final disposition. DigiLIBE addresses information growth across all points of an organization including e-mail, spreadsheets, word documents, PDF files, primary, secondary, offsite, and active archives. As a single architecture comprised of three simple components – information director, client agents and the archive information store – DigiLIBE reduces the number of disparate IT hardware and software products required, and the complexity and costs involved with managing and supporting unstructured data growth.
Some of the key new features in version 2.0 are:
Multi-User Log-in
- Allows multiple users to access and save their key data on the same PC to improve employee efficiency and productivity, reduce hardware cost, and maximize use of existing resources and computing power.
- IT Administrators can now maximize use of specialized workstations and centralize the information management of all end user data and automatically provide each user with their own DigiLIBE data profile and account.
- Roaming User Profiles
- Users have the ability to log on to any computer (that has the DigiLIBE client installed) on the same network and access their data anywhere in the network.
- IT Administrators now have automatic resource availability if an end user’s PC goes down. There is no lost user data created by roaming users as all their data is always archived in one location -the Information Director.
Secure Client Communication
- All information is now sent over a secure session that protects the confidentially, integrity and availability of the information while in transit from the desktop to the Information Director.
- Enhanced Reports
- IT Administrators can now run reports on file access, file modification, and non-standard file types to improve control and management of data.
Additional Graphical File Support
- DigiLIBE now supports large graphic files with the integration of Adobe’s open licensed XMP library for graphics files. This enables IT Administrators and end users working with graphic files such as TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF and PDF to archive, manage, and support these file types.
- Data Management Control
- Expanded File Ingestion Control provides IT Administrators with granular control and customization of end user ingested files that reduces storage cost, improves e-discovery, improves compliance and speeds search times and accuracy.
According to Kevin Beyer, General Manager of FedTel, a service telecom provider, "DigiLIBE is a simple and smart alternative for the hodgepodge of point products we would have had to purchase to offer the same capabilities integrated within DigiLIBE. A single architecture incorporating automatic, real time data search, discovery, compliance, archiving, and recovery dramatically speeds up our time to market, decreases our integration, training and support costs, improves our data center operational efficiency, and lets us provision our new services to our customers faster and with better reliability. DigiLIBE is the ideal way for us to meet our customer needs and expand our business."
According to Ken Peters, Executive Vice President of Digitiliti, "DigiLIBE is meeting the needs of our customers and partners who are looking for a single solution that is cost effective, easy to use and install, flexible, expandable and scalable to address the problems they are seeing with controlling the exploding volumes of unstructured data, dealing with regulatory data compliance pressures, possible litigation threats, limited IT budgets and staff, and cost reduction pressures from corporate headquarters. They know they cannot afford to continue to buy point solutions. The new features of DigiLIBE 2.0 make the ideal information solution even better."
DigiLIBE 2.0 is available now. Existing DigiLIBE users will be upgraded at no charge.
