Mirapoint With New Message Server 7700
An all-in-one mail server appliance starting at $15,000
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 16, 2010 at 3:50 pmMirapoint Software, Inc. announced the release of Message Server 7700, an all-in-one mail server appliance that meets and exceeds the messaging needs of medium to large enterprises and service providers.
"If you are in an industry that values its Intellectual Property, you need to keep your email within your enterprise. The Mirapoint Message Server 7700 delivers uncompromising, in-house reliability at a price that is typically less than half the cost of an Exchange deployment, with lower ongoing IT support requirements," said Jeff Witous, CEO of Mirapoint. "It pays for itself the minute you plug it in."
The Message Server 7700 is also a solution for service providers who want to offer cloud-based email services. A single M7700 can serve 10,000 enterprise-class users with gigabyte mailboxes in a 2U rackmount space. This reduces the amount of rackspace, power, and cooling by three to five times over traditional email solutions. Additionally, the Mirapoint environment easily scales to millions of mailboxes.
This new messaging server builds on Mirapoint’s technologies. The appliance form-factor, combined with its reliable and secure MOS 4.2, means that IT staff can rely on it to serve mail and calendars that are free from viruses and spam.
"I bought the 7-series Message Server on the first day it was available and haven’t looked back since. It’s saved us budget both on the IT and support sides; we put it on a rack, it started serving mail, and it’s been trouble-free from that moment," said Jon Blaskovich, Director of Technology for Ryan Partnership.
Mirapoint Message Server 7700
The new Message Server 7700 uses dual six-core Intel Xeon processors and Mirapoint’s MOS operating system, and is a scalable email server. It offers email, group calendaring, address book functionality, and integrated policy management in an easy-to-use appliance form factor. Mirapoint’s Message Server 7700, in conjunction with Remote Site Replication, allows companies to maintain geographic-mirroring architecture, which provides a redundant failover site ready to take over at a moment’s notice, should a disaster occur.
The Mirapoint Message Server 7700 is the flagship of its product line, supporting the messaging requirements of medium to large enterprises worldwide. Other Mirapoint Message Server appliances are the M7000 and M700 servers, for small- and mid-sized enterprise email deployments.
The Mirapoint family of messaging appliances, which includes RazorSafe for secure archiving and RazorGate for anti-spam/anti-virus, allows customers to integrate high-performance email messaging with secure archiving and anti-spam/anti-virus protection.
Features of the Message Server 7700
The Message Server 7700 hardware includes dual six-core Intel Xeon processors and a high-performance RAID controller. Certain models include up to 2.3 TB of built-in RAID-10 storage with hot-plug, high-performance SAS drives, and a Remote Access Controller (RAC) for facilitating operational maintenance and diagnostics. The new Message Server 7700 runs the proven MOS 4.2 and supports built-in, disk-to-disk image backup and selective mailbox restore.
