AlertBoot Opens Subsidiary in Brazil

AlertBoot, provider of disk encryption, announced the expansion of the company’s full disk encryption services into Brazil. The company is investing R$ 1 million in this new subsidiary, which will be led by Rodrigo Moura Fernandes, an expert in the Brazilian security industry who will serve as country manager.

As country manager Mr. Moura will be tasked with marketing, sales and support efforts for the Brazil market. With this expansion, AlertBoot is expected to commercialize 20,000 licenses by the end of 2010 and other 80,000 by the end of 2011, accomplishing a total of 100,000 users in the base installed in Brazil in the first 18 months of operation. With this growth, Brazil would account for 10 percent of AlertBoot’s total number of licenses worldwide.

Using the Sophos SafeGuard market platform, AlertBoot’s solution is supported in Portuguese and can be installed by the user, with no need for a dedicated server. By not demanding a minimum number of users, it can be installed either on personal computers or in companies. Information is managed virtually through the Web, so data won’t remain stored in the cloud. AlertBoot’s key features include different kinds of reports in keeping with specific international certification standards, whose content is embedded within the system. It is also possible to extract customized reports, to use, for example, in an audit process.
