Based on the EliteNAS hardware platforms, the EliteNAS WSS2008 is a network storage series with excellent performance. Models 12-bay and above are also equipped with built-in mini-SAS expansion ports for supporting up to 120 drives per channel that help to increase data capacity without the need to purchase a new unit.
Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008 is built upon an optimized file sharing service of Windows Server 2008 for increased server performance. Advanced storage technologies such as file de-duplication using Single Instant Storage, replication using Distributed File System Replication and snapshot using Volume Shadow Copy Service all come standard without any additional cost. Third party Windows based software, such as anti-virus and backup agent could also be installed to further enhance the features of the storage. iSCSI target software for unified file-based and block-based file sharing are also included. Microsoft Windows 2008 Hyper-V virtualization platform is supported via iSCSI target.
In addition, the EliteNAS Windows series comes standard with hot-swappable trays, redundant power supplies, as well as hardware RAID controller to provide data protection against hard drive failure. Utilizing SAS expander technology, all models 12-bay and above (optional on 8 bay) are capable for expansion of up to 120 drives per expansion port or 240TB per channel, maximizing your return of investment by expanding storage capacity without the need to purchase a brand new NAS unit. To increase data bandwidth, an optional gigabit or 10 gigabit Ethernet controller could also be added.
"Industry proven Microsoft Windows based network attached storage with iSCSI support provides an easy to use platform for IT in unified storage," said Stanley Chan, Director of Business Development of Sans Digital. "Ranging from $3,040 to $11,550, the EliteNAS Windows Storage Server rackmounts are ideal storage solutions for business network."
