Druva Software announced its UK entry strategy, led by EMEA director Borja Rosales who has already lined up a number of channel partners to help take the company’s products to market in the region.

Easy-to-use and featuring point-in-time restores and patent-pending data deduplication technology, inSync can make the backup process up to ten times faster than it traditionally was. The software is already being used by household names including NASA, fashion house Louis Vuitton, outsourced services provider Capita, business process and document management leader Xerox, insurance provider ICICI Prudential and language school Berlitz.

"Druva is now established in North America and India so this is a good time for us to enter the UK market. There is a large proportion of corporate laptop users among professionals in this country and we are looking to target them via a network of carefully chosen channel partners," said Borja Rosales, EMEA director at Druva.

Codenamed Blackbird after the Lockheed reconnaissance aircraft, Druva’s inSync features application-aware backup deduplication technology for laptops.  With more than 80% of emails being duplicated across recipients, inSync’s application-aware deduplication approach makes the backup process more efficient and cost-effective by significantly reducing storage bandwidth and capacity needs.

Druva’s inSync uses NoSQL Oracle Berkley Database (BDB), a low-level storage interface to manage meta-data, one that provides all the necessary functions while removing performance-limiting layers such as SQL-Optimisations. inSync also features a Web 2.0-based management console, and Octopus, Druva’s WAN optimisation engine that identifies available networks and optimises data transfers for latency and packet sizing.

In addition inSync offers users:

  • 100% deduplication accuracy
  • High performance – up to 200 users can simultaneously backup to a single InSync server
  • Simple installation and zero maintenance
  • Smart bandwidth calculation and throttling for optimum performance.

Jaspreet Singh, CEO and co-founder of Druva said: "Data deduplication is one of the most exciting technologies of the past ten years and thanks to Druva its benefits now extend to corporate laptops, large storage users in today’s road warrior age. By deduplicating information at this level inSync 4.0 offers a very high and quick ROI because it allows companies to rapidly realise large savings."

Druva’s Continuous Data Protection and Disaster Recovery products are in use in more than 20 countries around the world.
