Toshiba Entering Into Blu-ray 3D Player

Toshiba UK launched the BDX3100KB – Toshiba’s first Blu-ray player to support Blu-ray 3D movie playback.

Further establishing Toshiba’s commitment to 3D home entertainment, the BDX3100KB joins the REGZA WL 3D LED TV series and the Satellite A665 3D laptop in offering a three-dimensional experience, allowing users to enjoy 3D playback on a range of Toshiba devices. When connected to a 3D TV, the BDX3100KB enables users to enjoy a new kind of home cinema, with greater depth of field and enriched colour production.

3D quality, immersive audio, convenient control
The BDX3100KB provides Full HD 1920x1080p 3D output, creating an outstanding next generation home cinema experience. Blu-ray movies are played back at 24 frames per second, preserving their original atmosphere and quality to provide smooth, cinematic playback exactly how the movie director intended.

A 3D-capable HDMI port allows output of 3D content from Blu-ray 3D discs to a 3D capable TV set, allowing users to enjoy an immersive home cinema experience. REGZA-LINK (HDMI-CEC) technology via HDMI also enables users to control the BDX3100KB and compatible TV sets with a single remote control for convenience.

Lifelike pictures are accompanied by impressive audio, with the BDX3100KB offering true surround sound. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio | Essential provide a cinema like experience, reproducing high-quality uncompressed audio to a maximum of 7.1 channels.

Multi-format support
The BDX3100KB supports a wide selection of formats, including image, video and audio files in MKV, DivX, HD-JPEG and MP3 formats, whilst an integrated USB input situated on the front of the sleek body allows data to be read from compatible USB sticks. To offer instant playback of home movies, the BDX3100KB is also capable of translating AVCHD-compressed footage, offering instant and simple playback of videos shot on personal camcorders.

Users can also take advantage of bonus material available on Blu-ray discs thanks to full support for BD Live (Profile 2.0). By using the BDX3100KB’s remote control, users can navigate movie menus for access to a range of interactive features, including exclusive downloads, additional ‘making-of footage’, chats and games.
