Randy Kerns has been well known for his depth of knowledge in technology, strategic planning and IT operations across multi-national and mid size IT organizations. He brings to Evaluator Group customers expertise as a senior executive where he led integrated strategies at Sun, StorageTek, Tandem Computers and most recently as CTO at ProStor. Early in his career Randy Kerns led engineering teams at Fujitsu and IBM developing disk and tape systems including some of the first archive / mass storage systems and virtualized disk. Most recently, Randy has been leading architectural teams designing systems that address long term archive storage requirements as well as specialty information systems for Healthcare PACS and Media / Entertainment.
Randy has authored two books. Planning a Storage Strategy which offers step-by-step guidance on building an information storage strategy, and most recently Information Archiving – Economics and Compliance, one of the first books to provide an analysis and explanation on archival storage.
