Areca has built it’s foundation of high performance RAID controllers with the ARC-12xx Series and ARC-16xx Series and has proven to be a reliable and effecient solution. The new ARC-1800 series continues this performance standard with enhancements including a new high-performance 800Mhz RAID on Chip processor, a DDR2 800Mhz memory architecture, 6Gb/s SAS-2 and PCIe 2.0 x8 lanes host interface bus interconnection. This controller provides all the necessary components to continue achieving the maximum possible availabilty, reliability, scalability and performance. The adapters also provide the same familiar API, CLI, McBIOS manager or browser-based MCRAID user interface to simplify the creation, monitoring and maintenance of storage configuration to new and existing Areca customers.
The Areca 1880 series controllers provide small to mid size enterprise customers with superior levels of perforamance and scalability. The 6Gb/s SAS/SATA interface supports SAS drives for data intensive applications, SATA drives for low cost bulk storage of reference data and Solid State Drives (SSD’s) for high IOP environments. Applications such as NAS, server RAID solutions, supercomputing, near-line backup, security systems, digital contect creation, streaming video and cloud computing will truly benefit from the new Areca ARC-1800 RAID controller.
Areca also continues the way with a flexibility in RAID configuration support that includes RAID 0, 1, 1E, 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60, Single Disk or JBOD and OS support for Windows 7/2008/Vista/2003/XP, Linux (Open Source), FreeBSD (Open Source), Solaris (Open Source), Mac, VMware and more.
