The HIT NAS models offer seamless network integration, scalability and support file based workflows.

Two different NAS options are available:

  • File system integration, the archival storage is available in network shares. This integration provides capacity for secure long-term storage in your network.
  • Tiered storage system with policy based movement of files from primary storage to secure archive storage. Primary storage capacity is freed up while existing workflows remain unchanged.

Blu-ray is an industry standard technology; the applied Universal Disc Format (UDF) file system ensures compatibility between library- and regular workstation drives. Blu-ray media support write verification on the fly, and offer a 50- or 100-year reliability.

Benefits for broadcasting include:

  • Industry Standardized drive and media with UDF format
  • Long term viability using 50 year or 100 year Blu-ray media
  • Network connected, file based, automated functions to monitor, copy and recall digital files
  • Error correction and write verification on the drive level
  • Scalability by adding additional units to a network
  • Network attached off line racks with capacities up to 330TB and file system integration
  • Virtualization of archived files on Blu-ray in a tiered storage system
  • 40% reduction in energy use and CO2 emissions with hybrid solution (HD & Blu-ray vs. HDD only)
