Microboards Distributes Epson and Teac

Adding network publishing and thermal printing to optical disc duplication

Microboards Technology, in duplication and printing equipment for DVD, CD, and Blu-ray, will begin distributing for two manufacturers in the disc publishing marketplace: Epson America, Inc. and TEAC.

Channel partners and end users who depend on Microboards as a one-stop shop for duplication equipment and printing supplies can now access network friendly products that provide photo-quality printing for both thermal and inkjet. Microboards is now offering Epson’s Discproducer lineup, which includes a desktop publisher, two network models and an autoprinter, as well as Teac’s line of thermal retransfer printer solutions and supplies.

"Epson optimized the Discproducer to work with JVC (Taiyo Yuden) Water Shield media in mind," says Aaron Pratt, Microboards’ Director of Marketing. "The Epson solution boasts the solid reliability and industry-leading output quality that our customers demand. Epson’s entire Discproducer lineup strengthens our offering immeasurably by making inkjet a viable option for users who require the highest caliber in print technology".

"Epson has selected Microboards to distribute its suite of Discproducer solutions because of Microboards’ strong knowledge of the publishing industry and its commitment to the dealer channel", says Jeff Burroughs, National Channel Sales Manager, Epson System Device Group. "We are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship."

Epson’s Discproducer Network Disc Publisher (PP-100N) is a fully-enclosed printer/recorder with an embedded processor and hard drive. The network models include networking software with no licensing fees for multiple users. Epson’s offering also includes a specialized version for environments with physical and electronic security requirements.

With PIN-protected access and a door lock, administrative control options and an encrypted hard drive, Epson’s Discproducer Network Security model is ideally suited where authorized-only users are required. Epson’s network models have been in demand in medical, photo, financial, education, government, legal and corporate environments and have garnered the attention of many prominent industry voices.

In addition to its new partnership with Epson, Microboards will carry the Teac line of thermal retransfer printer solutions and supplies. The TEAC P-55 Series print solutions have distinguished themselves through their sharp prints, which are preferred time and time again in side-by-side visual tests with their closest rivals.

"The Teac offering provides an excellent economic alternative to other Thermal Print offerings in the market," says John Westrum, Chief Operating Officer for Microboards. "Besides winning on total cost of ownership, Teac’s P-55 printer’s output excels in durability, color brilliance, and clarity."

"We are thrilled to have Microboards on board as our partner", says Les Luzar, Teac’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "They have market strengths that can expand Teac’s success in the industrial CD/DVD market."

The Teac offering includes the P-55 disc printer and a USB Flash drive printer. The auto disc printer solutions are available in two single printer models as a 220-disc or 550-disc auto-printer or a 300 disc dual printer solution, the DiscAthalon II, which will produce over 120 discs per hour.
