This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 20, 2010 at 3:18 pmBakBone Software and Waterford Technologies, in email and file archiving with its MailMeter suite of solutions, announced a strategic reseller partnership.
The new partnership immediately adds Waterford’s email and file archiving technology to BakBone’s data protection portfolio and expands Waterford’s reach through BakBone’s extensive reseller channel and 15,000 customer base.
Waterford’s MailMeter archiving solution helps companies reduce operating costs due to growing storage requirements, improves productivity, reduces potential liability by enabling enforcement of corporate policies, meets regulatory requirements for email review and storage, and helps avoid penalties by providing an advanced legal discovery interface for fast responses to requests.

About Waterford MailMeter
Over 2,000 organisations worldwide from financial, governmental, healthcare, manufacturing, legal and high tech industries use MailMeter to meet their needs for email archiving, email investigations, storage reduction, regulatory compliance and reporting.
MailMeter reduces overall email and file storage volumes by more than 60%, improving server reliability and performance, reducing backup costs and times and giving users access to any email they ever sent or received. This eliminates the need for Microsoft Outlook’s Personal Storage Folders (PSTs) and Lotus Domino’s personal archive Notes Storage Files (NSFs).
MailMeter helps organisations quickly and securely meet government regulations such as SOX, SEC-17a3-4, FOIA, GLBA, HIPAA, Basel II, the Data Protection Act and others that require all emails to be stored in a tamper-proof, easily accessible location.
MailMeter customers range from 10 mailboxes to over 50,000 mailboxes.
Waterford also offers a File Archiver solution with File Analyser reports to manage the ever-growing amount of user files stored on network file servers.
Tom Politowski, president, Waterford Technologies, said: "We are very excited to deliver our archiving solutions to the market through BakBone. MailMeter is a great fit with the BakBone target market. It’s easy to install and configure within a few hours and requires little to no training for end users. By working together we can address the central storage and data protection issues facing customers and help them with their most pressing email and file archive management challenges – storage, e-discovery and compliance with regulations."
Michael Gaskill, vice president of Product Development, BakBone, said: "Partnering with Waterford opens up new opportunities for our customers while expanding the scope of BakBone’s Integrated Data Protection strategy and product offerings. Waterford’s industry-acclaimed expertise in email and file archiving solutions enable overall storage savings and fast search while allowing users to gather business data intelligence that can significantly streamline and improve operations."
John Zammett, president, HorizonTek, said: "Email is a mission-critical part of conducting business today – even the slightest disruption in service or data recovery can have significant financial impacts on a business, making archiving software an essential part of the overall disaster recovery strategy. We’re excited about the partnership of BakBone and Waterford which allows us to offer a complete end-to-end solution with even higher reliability and performance for our customers."
