OBT Partner of Xiotech

In Australia

Xiotech Corporation announced a partnership with OBT, a firm in the delivery of application hosting for small to medium-sized businesses in Australia. Under the terms of the agreement, OBT will be the flagship Xiotech partner in Australia and help tap into new markets in Australia and nearby areas.

Xiotech’s patented Intelligent Storage Element (ISE) technology delivers application-oriented data storage, offering benefits and especially augmenting virtualized environments and applications such as virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI). ISE storage blades enable 100 percent usable storage capacity while maintaining performance as drives approach full utilization, and users can add ISE units as they need more capacity for unprecedented cost effectiveness and flexibility in scaling out the system. Also, ISE units offer self-healing abilities, managed reliability and a five-year, zero-touch warranty, delivering worry-free storage.

"Xiotech and OBT share a strong commitment to offering the best performing and most reliable storage systems to the market, so this partnership is a natural fit for us as we continue to look for new ways to increase value to our clients," said Shane Muller, managing director at OBT. "Xiotech offers incredibly fast, reliable and efficient storage at an aggressive price, which we think gives us and our customers a big advantage in the market."

"OBT has a strong, well-earned reputation for making business easier for its customers, ranging from hosting a custom application in the cloud to providing a full IT infrastructure," said Alan Atkinson, chief executive officer at Xiotech. "Partnering with OBT gives us an entry into Australia and consequently the Asia-Pacific region, underscoring the great international expansion we’ve achieved and general momentum and buzz we’ve built this year."

This relationship demonstrates Xiotech’s continued momentum in scaling its global service and support footprint. In March, the company began working with Datastor Ltd. to expand distribution into New Zealand, and in February it launched a partnership with worldwide consulting and services leader GlassHouse Technologies, Inc. to expand its international presence and execute a range of joint development and marketing activities around its ISE technology.
