Using Isilon, Archive Systems has consolidated all of its file-based data and applications onto a single file system, simplifying data management for its software as a service (SaaS) business to increase IT efficiency and reduce capital and operating costs. With Isilon, Archive Systems can easily scale performance, capacity and applications in lockstep with client demand, providing maximum flexibility in responding to the evolving needs of its business.

"Our customers depend on us to keep their documents and electronic records safe, secure and available, anytime, anywhere," said Christopher Williams, Director of IT, Archive Systems. "So we’ve got to be prepared to respond to demand at a moment’s notice. With Isilon, we can do exactly that, as it’s enabled us to simplify data management and easily consolidate applications, so we’re more agile and better equipped to meet our clients’ needs."

Archive Systems pioneered the first services-based, on-demand document management solution with its ASPEN software, enabling businesses to automate, streamline and optimize the flow of document-based information. Prior to deploying Isilon scale-out storage, Archive Systems’ traditional SAN could not keep pace with the needs of its growing customer base, requiring significant system management and tedious data migration that slowed productivity and escalated costs.

By deploying Isilon’s X-Series, featuring its OneFS operating system, Archive Systems has created a single file system for all its file-based data, eliminating the time-intensive logical unit number (LUN) management of its previous SAN to simplify its IT infrastructure and reduce overhead. With Isilon’s unique, on-demand scaling of performance and capacity, Archive Systems can scale its storage in-line with its business growth, enabling the company to only purchase the storage it requires, while retaining the flexibility to scale its system cost-effectively as needs change. Using Isilon’s NL-Series, Archive Systems has deployed a second, off-site cluster for disaster recovery, ensuring its business, as well that of its clients, continues uninterrupted.

"Document management is core to business continuity, as retaining critical information protects organizations against risk and lost opportunities," said Sam Grocott, vice president of marketing, Isilon. "Archive Systems is a pioneer in eliminating risk in record keeping and is continuing to set the standard today by using Isilon to simplify its IT infrastructure and improve efficiency."
