IBM ProtecTIER De-Dupe Gateway

From IBM Corp., System Storage TS7680 ProtecTIER Deduplication Gateway for System z, a solution comprised of IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Deduplication Gateway for System z V1R2 software and IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Deduplication Gateway for System z (3958-DE2) hardware, is enhanced to include native IP-based replication. This feature is designed to allow users to maintain full copies of the logical volumes at the remote site, while transmitting only unique data that does not already exist in the remote repository.

This integrated solution is designed to address the tape processing needs of System z data centers, by helping to improve the data protection infrastructure and by more cost effectively managing and protecting critical customer data. The TS7680 Solution is designed to provide a high degree of scalability and flexibility and in-line deduplication for enterprise environments.
