Sanbolic Melio Provides High Availability and Simplified Management
For SharePoint
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 19, 2010 at 3:11 pmSanbolic, Inc. announced that Melio 2010 can be used to improve availability and management of application and content databases used by SharePoint. When used in conjunction with industry standard SAN storage, Melio simplifies management and improves availability for medium or large SharePoint deployments.
Sanbolic’s Melio 2010 software now includes advanced volume management, a clustered file system, and an application clustering service. This gives users the ability to consolidate all their SQL databases in a SharePoint installation onto a single data volume that can be striped or mirrored across multiple storage controllers and dynamically expanded.
Melio 2010’s AppCluster service allows the databases to be easily clustered across SQL servers and provides very fast failover of the database for availability. AppCluster removes the complexity and the need for expensive underutilized hardware associated with typical clustering tools. Shared access to storage across n+1 nodes in a cluster running Melio ensures recovery of SharePoint databases within seconds on any other node. In addition, Melio 2010 provides granular quality of service management, enabling mission critical application and/or content databases on the shared storage infrastructure to be guaranteed storage bandwidth.
Sanbolic distributes its product solutions worldwide through a network of distributors, OEMs, VARs and system integrators.
