"We have created a central location that enables people to explore and find information about their ancestors, geographical shifts and changes over time. To create our database, we have to scan and store thousands of maps, atlases and centuries of cartographic information. We need a storage solution that is expandable, reliable and easy to use. The SnapServer NAS solutions from Overland have continued to perform beyond our expectations and have helped us grow our database and protect valuable historical information,” said Charles Carpenter, national accounts manager at Historic Map Works.

High technology scans and digital cataloguing enable Historic Map Works to access and continuously archive, document and preserve historical information from across the globe. Using Overland’s SnapServer, Historic Map Works is able to back up and protect these digital reproductions of maps and geographical data.

The entire SnapServer line of storage solutions leverages the GuardianOS platform to provide companies like Historic Map Works with enterprise-class features including instant capacity expansion and optimized data management and protection without adding new layers of complexity or cost. With the ability to be easily managed and monitored from a central location, SnapServers are ideal for companies with limited IT staff and resources.

Historic Map Works has been recognized as a Laureate by the IDG Computerworld Honors Program. For over two decades, Computerworld Honors has acknowledged those individuals and organizations that have used technology to benefit society.

"SnapServer solutions have always been known for being easy to use and incredibly reliable for short and long term data storage requirements.
