ScaleUp Technologies Launches Secure Cloud Storage Solution

ScaleUp Technologies is launching a Germany-based secure cloud storage solution, much like that of Amazon S3, hosted in its Berlin cloud data center.

This new offering will allow ScaleUp’s customers to take advantage of the low cost and flexibility of cloud storage. It offers compatibility with the familiar S3 API, but with no data leaving Germany, and is supported by the comfort of working with a German-owned provider.

As the first cloud computing provider to launch in Germany, ScaleUp Technologies understands the privacy and security demands of German customers. Throughout the past year of building its cloud service offerings, the company has worked to ensure that all practices were in full compliance with the German Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, or BDSG).

In an effort to bring a new level of trust to cloud computing & cloud storage, ScaleUp will be working with security leaders to ensure it exceeds all privacy & security compliance issues.

According to Scott Sanchez, a cloud computing privacy and security leader, "Organizations that are concerned about security, privacy and compliance must find a cloud provider that goes beyond just making claims or saying ‘trust us’ and actually provides the transparency needed to satisfy your auditors and help you sleep at night". ScaleUp spent many months reviewing storage technology providers before deciding upon Scality, the developer of massively-scalable object storage software for email and cloud storage applications.
