Reldata Reports 62% Revenues Growth From 1H09 to 1H10

And expands relationship with Supermicro.

RELDATA Inc. announced revenue growth during the first half of 2010, fueled by the acquisition of new customers, a 20 percent increase in average deal size, and a 50 percent increase in value added reseller (VAR) partnerships signed.

In addition, the company announced an expanded strategic relationship with Supermicro that incorporates Supermicro’s new SBB 2.0 dual controller high availability platform into RELDATA’s roadmap later this quarter. These results are based on RELDATA’s ability to help mid-size and departmental enterprise organizations increase the performance and high availability of block and file data, while virtualizing third party data storage from a common management platform at the lowest total cost of ownership.

Revenues during the first half of 2010 were 62 percent greater than the same period in 2009, and second quarter revenue ending June 30 was 90 percent greater than the previous quarter, and with an increase of 60 percent in total pipeline. "These numbers confirm continued rising demand for RELDATA’s unified storage offerings and demonstrate RELDATA’s market traction and plan execution, pointing to long term success," said Paul Stukus, vice president of finance and operations, RELDATA.

"Our first half results represent a breakthrough on several fronts, driven by RELDATA’s channel and strategic partners’ focus on providing the best total value and user experience with our innovative unified storage solutions for virtualized server and private cloud environments," said Steven Murphy, CEO, RELDATA. "The results represent a significant growth market opportunity for unified storage, particularly with mid-market organizations where fewer resources, compared to those in larger companies, create tremendous challenges and duplicate costs in supporting separate block- and file-based applications. RELDATA is making strong inroads with mid-market customers by delivering a next-generation software-centric solution that aggressively bundles in best-in-class, snapshot, migration, replication and clustering features as well as third party virtualization to get the most value out of organizations’ growing storage infrastructures."

Broad Customer Appeal

During the first half of the year, RELDATA continued adding new customers in industries such as healthcare, utilities, legal and education, including:

  • Delta Dental of Colorado – The largest dental benefits company in the state, serving more than one million customers, relies on RELDATA to consolidate its rapidly growing data warehouse requirements, and replace its legacy and more costly Fibre Channel storage.
  • University of Cambridge – One of the world’s oldest and among Europe’s leading academic institutions. RELDATA supports research applications in the Geography Department where rapidly expanding storage requirements are expected to double from 30 terabytes (TBs) to 64TBs within the next three years.
  • Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences (KGI) – Member of the Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California, is the only U.S. graduate institute devoted solely to bioscience education and discovery. RELDATA is managing KGI’s block and file storage as the institute transitions from a legacy NAS system to next-generation iSCSI SAN, accessible by faculty, staff, and students.

Strategic Partnership Expansion
In addition to new customers, RELDATA broadened its storage solution with strategic partnerships, including:

  • Super Micro Computer, Inc. – A provider of application-optimized server and storage solutions, the company is collaborating with RELDATA to combine RELDATA’s 64-bit virtualization operating software (RELvos 2.4) with Supermicro’s storage bridge bay (SBB) hardware system for unified storage management and security.
  • Promark Technology – A value-added distributor of data storage and document imaging solutions has added RELDATA’s 9240i storage solution to its product line for consolidating block and file storage within complex multivendor and virtualized server environments.

"This level of industry awareness of our value proposition has helped RELDATA recruit and sign over 50 percent more channel partners than in the previous year. This expanded partner community will support our future growth plans," said Lanie Kruger, vice president of channel and business development.
