to HSM offerings

Oracle database customers and PCI QSA’s now have an economical way to secure data-at-rest and meet new tougher compliance standards that require remote key storage.

Calling JCA directly from the Oracle JVM, the Encryption Wizard is able to generate, store and retrieve master keys from an HSM card. These master keys are in turn used to generate column level keys within the Oracle database. With the HSM in place, it becomes virtually impossible for traditional data theft to occur, since all encrypted data is dependent on the HSM master key stored on a physical device.

Built around an intuitive Java interface, the Encryption Wizard is a tool for security managers and database administrators who are looking for an affordable and tested transparent data encryption solution as an alternative to Oracle’s TDE offering.
