Japan Computing Systems New OEM of Dot Hill

In the Japanese market

Dot Hill Systems Corp. announced an OEM relationship with Japan Computing Systems to deliver high-performance storage solutions to the Japanese market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Japan Computing Systems will market Dot Hill’s 2722 and 2732 Fibre Channel storage arrays, based on its R/Evolution (Rapid Evolution) architecture, to resellers and end-users throughout Japan.

Japan Computing System (JCS) has been leading the market with its high performance and stable infrastructure systems such as rack mountable servers and disk arrays. JCS’ quality support and high reliability has led to acceptance of its Vintage series of products, which enjoys a broad installed base at major enterprises within IT industries, government agencies and universities, owing to its high reliability and quality of support.

The R/Evolution architecture-based family of Dot Hill storage solutions redefines entry-level storage with breakout data management and performance metrics, as well as capabilities such as mixed-drive type support and dual protocol interfaces. Energy-saving features include the company’s patented EcoStor ‘green’ battery-free alternative for cache memory, drive spin-down and DC power options.

"We’re proud to offer Dot Hill’s innovative R/Evolution storage line," said Goro Ohnishi, executive director, Japan Computing Systems. "Dot Hill storage solutions offer compelling price/performance as well as high reliability plus redundancy via dual controllers, hot swappable drives, fans, power supplies."
